Round 7 (Final) Seat Allocation Announced
Candidates can view Seat Allotment and Pay Seat Acceptance Fee through JoSAA (https://josaa.nic.in)
The following revised schedule of JoSAA 2018 is being released on account of the following reasons:-
(a) the third round of seat allotment and related activities being kept in abeyance due to proceedings in the Hon’ble High Court of Madras,
(b) requests from numerous parents and candidates across IITs who have already finalized their travel bookings as per the displayed start of sessions in different IITs,
(c) academic sessions of IITs are to start on time as scheduled earlier,
(d) ensuring that all candidates are able to get a fair chance of full participation in, and completion of, the initially declared seven rounds of seat allotment, with the sixth round being the final round in which withdrawal is permissible,
(e) ensuring that the total number of hours of activities involving “Document Verification and Acceptance/Withdrawal of Seat by reporting at Reporting Centres” remain the same as originally scheduled for all candidates,
Please note that all Reporting Centres will now start operating at 0800 hrs on some of the days of activities to ensure that the number of working hours per round are still guaranteed to be made available at the Reporting Centres for all candidates as per the original schedule (e.g. 2 days in round X as per earlier schedule was equal to 16 working hours, thus in the revised schedule also round X will have 16 working hours of Reporting Centres for all candidates).
As per an MHRD directive (.pdf file of the letters available HERE: Letter-MHRD, Letter-KVS, Letter-NVS) candidates may approach any Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in their vicinity and request some time on their computer facility for practicing on any of the Mock tests (available at https://www.jeeadv.ac.in/) to become familiar with the Computer-Based-Test environment for JEE (Advanced) 2018. To prevent misuse of this, the candidates are requested to take a print-out or any other proof of their completed registration for JEE (Advanced) 2018 along with a valid photo ID. The candidates are also instructed NOT to request the KV and JNV authorities for allowing any of the relatives inside the School premises.
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2018 will be conducted by the IITs . The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB 2018 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2018 and admission to IITs.
